Zinedine Zidane talked quite frankly and sincerely in an interview with French newspaper 'L'Equipe', in which he spoke about his reticence to obtain his title as a football manager. The reason? He was scared of being a bad one: "I was afraid, scared of trusting people and then being let down. With time, I have gained more self-confidence, and am more open with people", he said.
Ancelotti's new assistant sees no connection with his spectacular football career and being able to triumph as a manager in the dugout: "Having been a good player is no guarantee that you'll then be a good manager. It can help, but nothing more", he insisted.
The Frenchman is carrying out two important jobs this summer at Real Madrid - he is both important when taking part in the decisions made by in the club's offices, as he is down on the pitch with the players, learning to be a manager.
This next 15th July will see the return of Zidane to the football pitch. On this day he starts his new career in the Valdebebas sports complex as second coach to Carlo Ancelotti, thus kicking off Real Madrid's new project.
